All Pipeline TV & Air Testing, Inc. provides low-pressure air testing of new pipes ranging in size from 4” to 48” in diameter. The operator will insert plugs at each end of the pipeline section to seal it. Low air pressure is then inserted into the plugged lines. The amount and rate of air loss is used to determine the acceptability of the section of pipeline being tested. A specific drop in air pressure within the isolated section of the pipeline being tested over a specified length of time determines whether the pipeline passed or failed. This practice narrows down the location of the leak in a pipeline segment.
